To promote Chinese cultural heritage, East China's Fujian province is making efforts to protect over 30 historical relics within the Wuyishan Scenic Area, including cliff inscriptions and ancient academies. The restoration and enhancement of Xingxian Academy and Wuyi Jingshe have expanded the area's cultural influence.

Students recite ancient poems with enthusiasm in Zhu Xi Garden in Mount Wuyi, Nanping, getting up close and personal with  traditional Chinese culture during their winter vacation. Nanping has organized various cultural activities to promote the inheritance of traditional culture, such as visiting Wuyi Jingshe, half-mu square pond, and watching traditional operas.

On the basis of protection, Fujian adheres to tradition while innovating, promoting the rejuvenation of Chinese excellent traditional culture. The Library of Fujian Literature multimedia publishing project has published 267 volumes, the project for the inheritance and development of maritime culture has been further implemented, and the influence of the forum of the culture of blessings has been further enhanced.

Moreover, Fujian continues to integrate Chinese traditional culture into everyday life through a variety of ways. The historical and cultural block of Fuzhou Three Lanes and Seven Alleys explores new ways of developing and utilizing ancient houses and lanes by integrating digital technology with tourism formats.

"We have been exploring the integration and innovation of digital technology with tourism, presenting the historical stories behind cultural relics in digital form," said Chen Hao, deputy general manager of Fuzhou Three Lanes and Seven Alleys Protection, Development, and Operation.

To pass on the representative projects of intangible cultural heritage, the craft artist Huang Lifeng has written teaching materials and collaborated with the Sixth Middle School of Quanzhou to offer paper-carving classes, teaching the craft to more children.

Meanwhile, Fujian's cultural achievements include award-winning Puxian opera works and well-received film and television productions such as Minning Town, showcasing the deep denotation of Fujian culture.

In 2023, Fujian spent a total of 23.06 billion yuan ($3.23 billion) on 211 key cultural and tourism construction projects, resulting in a 45.9-percent increase in tourist arrivals and a 61.3-percent increase in tourism revenue.
