The Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, or Xiamen FTZ, is making efforts to facilitate cross-border trade.
This year, the FTZ's administration committee stepped up joint efforts with authorities such as Xiamen Customs and the port office to tackle difficulties and further promote the growth of the city's foreign trade.
One of the efforts is the digital transformation of Xiamen Port. Relying on the China (Xiamen) International Trade Single Window, the port is working to integrate informatization projects and date resources and build a united, efficient and smart platform. To date, the platform can provide a total of 137 services online, including ship declaration, goods transportation, and inspection appointment.
In addition to shipping, the port is also promoting the testing of an air logistics public information platform.
Relying on the China (Xiamen) International Trade Single Window, the port is seeking to build an air cargo public service and data exchange platform, through which it aims to realize collaborative operation online and digital operation of security inspection and release, so as to improve the efficiency of the cargo transportation by 90 percent.
In addition, the port has rolled out a new air cargo operation model to improve efficiency in the transfer of goods. This new model can reduce the average transfer time of each cargo by four minutes and increase inspection efficiency by 25 percent.
