The 14th Fujian Provincial People's Congress, the province's legislature, started its first session on Jan 11 in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province. The session will conclude on Jan 15.

The five-day session's agenda mainly includes reviewing the annual work reports of the Fujian Provincial People's Government, the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress, the Fujian Provincial High People's Court and the People's Procuratorate of Fujian Province, and deliberating the annual plan for socioeconomic development as well as the plans for local budgets. The 14th Fujian Provincial People's Congress will also elect and appoint staff for government departments during its first session.
