Fujian starts 238 projects worth $29.78b in Q4
East China's Fujian province held a commencement ceremony for 238 major projects worth 189.7 billion yuan ($29.78 billion) in the fourth quarter of this year.
The major projects included 158 industrial projects worth 127.2 billion yuan, 44 infrastructure projects worth 38.2 billion yuan, and 36 social livelihood projects worth 24.3 billion yuan.
Among the 238 projects, 26 projects received investments totaling over 2 billion yuan.
One example of these projects is a lithium ion battery production base project, which received investments of 7 billion yuan and will be constructed by a Xiamen company that is wholly-owned by CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co).
A hospital project of Rong Qiao Group, which is located in Fuzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, received investments worth 3 billion yuan. It will be built into a tertiary general hospital consisting of an outpatient building, an inpatient department, a rehabilitation center, and apartments.
To date, Fujian province has commenced a total of 911 major projects with investments amounting to 749.2 billion yuan this year. A total of 673 projects with investments totaling 121.8 billion yuan commenced in the first three quarters of this year.
Statistics indicate that Fujian province has accumulated 126.2 billion yuan in investments for the 673 projects, which is a 103.6 percent completion rate.
