Industrial internet fuels Fujian, Taiwan economic cooperation
Many companies from Taiwan have been actively engaged in Fujian's digital construction.
Statistics show that the revenue of Taiwan companies above designated size exceeded 100 billion yuan ($15.47 billion), accounting for over 20 percent of Fujian's total output value in the electronic information industry.
TPV Technology, a Taiwan-funded company that established a factory in Fuqing, Fujian province in 1989, has developed from producing traditional computer displays to smart digital displays that are applied in smart healthcare, smart education, as well as smart offices.
Display media is a necessity in the city's smart transformation, which provides development opportunities in the future, said Li Yü-chi, a technician at the company who is from Taiwan.
Li noted that the Chinese mainland is full of emerging industries providing opportunities for the internet industry, as well as innovative business environments, which are vital for scientific and technological companies.
Fujian province has recently introduced a series of measures to benefit Taiwan companies that are participating in Fujian's infrastructure construction, such as in the industrial internet and the internet of things sectors.
Taiwan companies bolster talents and technologies in the application and development of industrial internet, industrial software, and new-generation information technology, which can contribute to the digitalization of a large number of Fujian manufacturing companies, said Guo Xuejun, the deputy director of the provincial department of industry and information technology.
Recently, 10 Fujian manufacturing companies have signed cooperation projects with 10 industrial internet service providers covering the smart manufacturing, industrial internet, and e-commerce consumption sectors.
Fujian will continue its cooperation with Taiwan to promote the innovation and development of the industrial internet, as well as to boost the industrial economic digitalization and smart transformation, Guo added.
