An exhibition for the 44th session of the World Heritage Committee officially opened to the public in Fuzhou, Fujian province on July 19, attracting over 800 visitors on the first day.

The 2,700-square-meter exhibition is being held in the opera hall of the Strait Culture Art Center, showcasing global world heritage sites, world heritage sites in China, and world heritage sites in Fujian province.

The exhibition area located opposite to the front gate displays 89 heritage sites from across the world.

The "world heritage in China" exhibition area is on both sides of the exhibition hall, showcasing 55 heritage sites in China, the protection on world heritage sites, as well as real-time monitors showing the flow of cars and people at each site.

The entrance of the "world heritage in Fujian" exhibition area is decorated with gates like the ones in the Zhencheng Building, a tulou in Hongkeng village.

The exhibition also boasts a special exhibition area featuring traditional Fuzhou elements like saddle-shaped walls and oil-paper umbrellas to showcase cultural heritage protection in Fuzhou. Visitors can also learn about the Three Lane and Seven Alleys, Maritime Silk Road, Mawei shipbuilding facilities, Yongtai county, and other characteristic locations.

A visitor surnamed Pan said that the exhibition of the 44th session of the World Heritage Committee is an opportunity to introduce Fuzhou to the world, as well as a chance for people to learn more about world heritage protection efforts.

The exhibition will run until July 31.
