World-class university to establish new campus in Fujian

The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences will establish a new campus in Jinjiang, Fujian province, to cultivate national talents for the intelligent manufacturing sector.
With a total investment of 1.65 billion yuan ($254.78 million), the new campus will offer graduate education and elite undergraduate education in fields such as intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, new energy vehicle, and electronic information.
The new campus will aim to cultivate high-end R&D talents, technological talents in engineering, as well as professional graduate students.
The project is divided into two phases. The 195,000-square-meter first phase will include the construction of facilities like the R&D building, a multifunctional building, a library, a gym, and dormitories. The second phase will consist of a Fujian sci-tech laboratory of intelligent manufacturing, a sci-tech park, and dormitories.
