Wang Yuxin, a student at Peking University, was born in Xiadang town, Ningde, Fujian province. She has witnessed the strong efforts her fellow villagers have made to rise from poverty and said that young people must play their part on the road to prosperity.

"It is important for us to revitalize our hometown and realize the Chinese dream. This is also our commitment to our parents and fellow villagers. I hope we learned something from our studies and can devote ourselves to the development of our hometown and the prosperity of our motherland," Wang said.
