Nightingale medal winner leads team of nurses to help Wuhan

In accordance with the deployments of the National Health Commission, Fujian province sent a team of nurses to Wuhan, capital of central Hubei province on Feb 4, to help with the fight against the novel coronavirus, officials said.
The team was led by Li Hong, a registered nurse and the only Chinese winner of the renowned international Florence Nightingale Medal for 2019.
Li is currently the deputy Party secretary of the Fujian Provincial Hospital and Party secretary of the Fujian Provincial Jinshan Hospital.
"I'm very honored to be designated as the leader of the team," Li said. "I will do my best to lead the team and cure the patients suffering from the novel coronavirus, together with the team members."
Aside from Li Hong and a liaison officer from the Fujian Provincial Health Commission, the team includes a total of 100 nurses from Fuzhou, Pingtan, Putian, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Longyan, Ningde, Sanming and Nanping, according to local officials.
