Competition explores cross-Straits media entrepreneurship

The 2018 Cross-Strait New Media Entrepreneurship Competition opened in Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, East China's Fujian province on Nov 27.
The competition has received extensive attention and the enthusiastic participation of the new media industry from both sides of the Strait since its inception.
To date, it has received more than 100 entries, covering a series of new media fields including apps, short clips and virtual reality techs. Among them about 30 are from Taiwan.
On the day, a roadshow with the attendance of 10 projects took place. The projects showcased some innovative ideas in terms of marketing using new media approaches such as applets, online and offline operation of cultural creative products, and online IP creation.
The projects which are the most innovative in their content, marketing and application shall be the finalists, according to its organizers. Judges'scores and online votes will decide the winner.
Pan Xianqiang, deputy editor-in-chief of the Fujian Daily,one of the major sponsors of the event, pointed out that the competition enhanced connectivity between media, investment and entrepreneurs, adding that it shall further mobilize the creativity of the new media industry and advance cross-Straits links in the sector.
Cai Fuyong, deputy director of the administrative committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, expressed the hope that excellent contestants in the competition ride the wave of entrepreneurship nationwide and bring more excellent projects to Pingtan.
