Reading festival highlights cross-Straits ties

The Fourth Cross-Straits Reading Festival is scheduled to commence in Fuzhou, capital city of East China's Fujian province on April 17, local media reported.
The event, expecting to last for a month, will comprise of a raft of activities, including book sales, cultural lectures as well as recital of classics.
A book ordering conference will be launched on April 17-18 in Fuzhou. More than 300 publishers and businesses across the country have confirmed their participation.
The sections displaying the books from Fujian and Taiwan are to be erected during the meeting.
In a bid to highlight cross-Straits ties and further the collaboration between the publishers from the mainland and Taiwan, the organizing committee has introduced more than 2,000 titles from Taiwan.
Meanwhile, some domestically renowned figures including Fuyao Glass Group Founder Cao Dewang, actor Liu Xiao ling tong and calligrapher Gao Chengjie, will appear amid the festival.
From April 19 to 23, the book ordering conference is expected to open to the public. Buyers are entitled to a 22 percent discount.
