The first theater festival at Binhai Liyumen concluded after the National Day holiday, attracting more than 30,000 visits.
With its new identity as a seaside theater town, the block has attracted growing numbers of visitors, emerging as a new destination for cultural tourism in the region.
The festival treated the block as a backdrop and nearby courtyards as stages, integrating local fishing culture, intangible cultural heritage, time-honored brands, and theatrical performances.
More than 100 shows and over 10 selected productions were staged, with a total of 22 performers. Special characters proved popular for their vivid personas and natural interactions with visitors, becoming viral symbols of the event.
Liyumen has developed a diversified model integrating theater, homestays, coastal resources, and other businesses. Its seaside courtyard homestays topped Tianjin's list of scenic homestays, while the block became one of the city's most popular sightseeing destinations.
By connecting the block, beach, and nearby scenic areas, it extended the consumption chain and built a stable Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei customer base. The original characters featured at the event received significant attention both online and offline, laying a strong foundation for regular operations and future upgrades.
Next, the block will enrich its performances, optimize its business layout, improve services, and strengthen its own brand, aiming to become a coastal cultural tourism landmark in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
