Hangu Salt Field is located in the Binhai New Area, adjacent to Tianjin Port, Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, and Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone. It is well connected by several key transport routes, including the Beijing-Shanhaiguan Railway, Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway, and Haibin Avenue. The company covers an area of 96.28 square kilometers and is primarily engaged in the production and operation of solar salt, edible salt, brine-based chemicals, and fine chemicals.  

Hangu Salt Field's predecessor was the "Lutai Salt Field," which dates back to the Liao Dynasty and flourished during the Jin Dynasty. The raw salt produced here was prized for its white, translucent appearance and pure quality, earning the nickname "Lutai Jade Sand" as a tribute salt for the imperial court starting from the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty. In recent years, Hangu Salt Field has adhered to a development strategy focused on "salt and chemicals as the foundation, with diversified related industries." While maintaining its traditional industries, the company has expanded into new areas, launching projects such as vacuum-refined salt, tetrabromobisphenol A, and industrial bromine extraction from concentrated seawater, laying the groundwork for the continued growth of its core businesses.  

The company has also invested in the Beijiang Power Plant, Vopak storage, and wharves, enhancing its industrial structure and driving transformation. Its three main business sectors—salterns, aquaculture, and warehousing logistics—have flourished, achieving integrated development of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, which supports high-quality growth.
