Ambassador Zhao attended the Partial Handover Ceremony of the China-Aid Project of Rehabilitation of Sierra Leonean National Stadium

On 30th July, H.E. Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Mr. Zhao Yong attended the Partial Handover Ceremony of the China-Aid Project of Rehabilitation of Sierra Leonean National Stadium with the Minister of Sports of Sierra Leone, Mrs.Teima. The Minister of West Region of Sierra Leone, Executive General of the National Sports Agency, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Works and Public Assets, etc., as well as the Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Wang Peng, and representatives from the Construction team, Gansu Construction Investment (Holdings) Group Limited, and Chinese enterprises in Sierra Leone, totaling approximately 300 people, participated.

Ambassador Zhao said, this project is a landmark project of China-Sierra Leone practical cooperation. The Chinese side will take the 55th anniversary of the diplomatic relations of the two countries as an opportunity to work hands on hands with the Sierra Leonean side, to facilitate cooperation in many fields and promote development of the bilateral relations.

On behalf of the Sierra Leonean government, Minister Teima extended heartfelt thanks to China, said that the stadium is a testament of the deep friendship between the two countries, and has contributed a lot to Sierra Leone's sports development.

The China-Aid Project of Rehabilitation of Sierra Leonean National Stadium was implemented since February 2022. The partial handover includes practicing field, athletes apartment and swimming pool, etc.
