Amb. Jiang Feng and DG Dr. Jean Kaseya of Africa CDC signed the handover certificate for emergency humanitarian assistance related to the Ebola outbreak

On June 26, H.E. Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of Mission of China to the African Union, and H.E. Dr. Jean Kaseya, Director General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), signed the handover certificate for emergency humanitarian assistance related to the Ebola outbreak. Minister Counselor Lyu Ruihao, Counselor Wang Ligui were present among others.

Amb. Jiang stated that China and Africa have always been a community with a shared future, standing together through thick and thin. China provided emergency humanitarian assistance at the earliest opportunity, supporting the Africa CDC in playing a crucial role in responding to the Ebola outbreak. China will continue to work with the international community to provide support, to help African countries overcome the epidemic as soon as possible.

Dr. Kaseya expressed heartfelt gratitude to China for its strong support for the Africa’s joint response to the Ebola outbreak. China's emergency humanitarian assistance was timely and played a vital role in the anti-epidemic efforts. Africa CDC is willing to strengthen cooperation with China and international partners to strive for early control of the epidemic and safeguard global public health security.
