The BISU entries addressed three themes — carrying forward China's fine traditional culture, applying digital technology in innovative ways, and cultural exchange between China and other countries — combining computing, digital media art and the humanities.

Wang Kuo, one of the supervising teachers, said that the essence of competition-based education is to guide students to identify themes in real cultural settings and to retain to a humanistic core in technical work, developing both aesthetic judgment and the ability to bring their ideas to life.

Going forward, BISU will further its interdisciplinary approach to education, use academic competitions as platforms for teaching and innovation, and strengthen students' creative thinking and practical abilities.
