A batch of overseas medical equipment has been re-exported from the Xiangyu Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Xiamen after completing customs clearance following repairs. This marks a new milestone for China's first global bonded repair program for medical devices, launched in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone. The program has handled 5,158 bonded repair items with a total value exceeding 40 million yuan ($5.96 million), reaching 43.65 million yuan.

As one of China's first pilot programs for global bonded repair of medical devices, the project was launched at the Xiangyu Comprehensive Bonded Zone in October 2024, extending repair services to third-party branded medical equipment worldwide.

Leveraging the policy benefits of the comprehensive bonded zone, companies can carry out the full chain of services for overseas equipment within the zone — including testing, diagnostics, fault repair, and performance calibration — giving them a deep foothold in the global medical device after-sales maintenance chain and helping them expand into higher-value-added service trade.
