Lushunkou to boost tourism

The district of Lushunkou in Dalian, Liaoning province is hoping that it can boost the local economy with a focus on its fledgling tourist industry.
This year, the district has held a spate of festivals, including the Cherry Festival, Colored Leaves Festival, and Seafood Festival, in order to try to attract more visitors to the area. Local authorities hope that the area's thriving agricultural sector will also help spawn activities to help attract tourists to the city.
In addition, Lushunkou is also offering unique activities to attract tourists, such as sea fishing during traditional Chinese festivals, attracting visitors from across the country. So far, the district has received 9.04 million tourists and achieved comprehensive economic income of 6.87 billion yuan ($991.07 million), a year-on-year rise of 8.9 percent and 15.9 percent –– providing support for the region's economic development.
