Guangdong embraces 2 Gree centers of innovation

A pair of Gree-initiated Zhuhai units are included in the third group listing of Guangdong Provincial Innovation Centers in the Manufacturing Sector, according to the Economic & Information Commission of Guangdong Province.

One is the Guangdong Local Energy Internet Innovation Center, which will be operated by Gree Electric Appliances along with 21 universities, scientific institutions, and manufacturers. They include Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the China Southern Power Grid Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau, China Electric Power Research Institute, and CRRC Zhuzhou Institute.

The center will innovate local energy internet-related core technology and products, criteria and standard certification systems, and complete direct-current ecological chains.

Last September, Gree's self-developed G-IEMS Local Energy Internet System, introduced at IFA 2017 in Germany, was hailed as of great significance to the world’s energy conservation and emission reductions by Leo Lorenz, an academician of the German Academy of Sciences.

The other is the Guangdong Small Household Appliance Intelligent Manufacturing Regional Innovation Center. The R&D facility brings together Gree Intelligent Equipment, Guangdong Longli Electrical Appliance, Guangdong Huaco Electric Appliance Group, Guangdong Weking Group, and Guangdong Nameishi Electrical Appliances to transform the household appliance intelligent manufacturing sector through resource integration.

The Guangdong innovation centers are tasked with transforming and upgrading the manufacturing industry through innovation and developing strategic emerging industries with cutting-edge technology.
