Flight world to converge in Zhuhai for Airshow China

A record 770 exhibitors from 43 countries and regions have confirmed attendance at Airshow China to be held at the Zhuhai Airshow Center from Nov 6 to 11. The show will be larger in all aspects, it was announced at a news briefing on Aug 16.

Eleven sessions of the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, the full name of the event, have been held in Jinwan District, Zhuhai since 1996.

The largest-of-its-kind event in China will have increased indoor exhibition of 22 percent to 10 hectares (25 acres), with an additional Hall 10. The outdoor display area will near 40 hectares with the static display area expanding to 1.1 hectares (2.7 acres), according to Zhuhai Airshow Co, the organizer.

More than 100 aircraft will be accommodated. Chief among them are the domestically made C919 passenger, ARJ 21 twin-engine regional, and private Challenger 605 jets, and Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft.

The lineup this year will have more Top 100 aviation and aerospace enterprises as well as a significant number of more players from Belt & Road countries. The United States, Russia, France, Canada, Italy, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other Western countries will return, while the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and others are also organizing enterprises to participate.

Ten major Chinese military industrial enterprises including Aviation Industry Corp of China will set up special booths to showcase general aviation, civil aviation aircraft, aviation engines, business jets, and drones, and to demonstrate capabilities in maintenance, repair, and overhaul. Maritime defense products will also be spotlighted to achieve a full coverage of land, sea, air, space, and electric systems. Hall 9 is earmarked for military-civilian integration achievements made in Guangdong.

The nearly 200 military and political trade delegations from more than 60 countries are likely to place large orders. They will mingle with more than 130,000 other professional visitors.

The show will offer 150 themed activities including an aviation and aerospace forum, China defense product promotions, and exhibitor networking. Also on the agenda are signing ceremonies, product launches, market analysis meetings, and one-to-one business negotiations.

Furthermore, the Saudi Hawks aerobatic team of the Royal Saudi Air Force will debut with nine Hawk MK 65A trainers and is sure to arouse excitement, as will no doubt the Bayi Aerobatic Team of the Chinese PLA Air Force.

The organizer promises improved infrastructure, people-oriented services, smoother traffic, and streamlined ticket checking procedures despite the upgraded exhibition size.
