MICE best marketing title awarded to Zhuhai CEC

Bimonthly MICE China magazine presented its Best Marketing Award 2017 to the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center (CEC) during the publication's inaugural Forum & Awards Ceremony in Macao on May 4.

MICE China was established in May 2006 in Hong Kong by Arch International Media. It develops meetings, incentives, conferences (conventions), and exhibitions (expositions) in China. With a circulation of 20,500, it is used by those seeking conference hotel resources and business opportunities.

As the economy rapidly grows, more and more Chinese enterprises are using conferences and incentive travel as an important business asset. Within this context, MICE China initiated the ceremony to recognize industry players evincing the best performance while also probing the latest trends.

Picturesque Zhuhai in the Pearl River Delta borders the open sea and has numerous islands and a long coastline, setting itself apart from many MICE destinations in recent years.

The CEC, located in Shizimen Central Business District, has gained prominence since opening in October 2014. It is part of Hengqin New Area and overlooks Macao across a cross-shaped waterway. The modern architectural complex has a 30,000 sq m interior Exhibition Center. Integrated are a hotel, office building, theater, concert hall, and advanced support facilities. High-quality exhibition service coupled with the coastal experience have attracted Wal-Mart, Audi, Benz, and Yili, according to Xu Jian, general manager assistant of CEC.

The center hosted the 3rd China-Israel Investment Summit, China-Latin America & Caribbean International Exposition, 12th International Congress of Chinese Orthopedic Association (COA), and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Forum on International Communication & Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global.

It belongs to the International Congress & Convention Association, Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, International Association of Convention Centers, China Convention/Exhibition/Event Society, and Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association.

The convention center has also received several professional awards, including the Most Influential Convention & Exhibition Venue and China Construction Engineering Laban Prize -- the country's premier laurel for design and construction.
