A liaison office of the Guangdong Food & Drug Administration (GDFDA) will be opened at the Hengqin TCM park to offer enterprises policy consultion and technical guidance.
The stage for the new office was set when a memorandum of cooperation was signed on Jan 10 at the 2018 Guangdong-Macao Cooperation Joint Conference in Guangzhou. It regards further construction and development of what is formally known as the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science & Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation Between Guangdong & Macao.
The 120,000-sq-m TCM facility initiated limited public service in Hengqin New Area last September. It comprises projects from R&D to quality testing and production for small and medium-size medicine enterprises in the Chinese mainland and Macao. Next, the liaison office will guide public service platforms and enterprises in the park as they go through registration, review, approval, and licensing.

Moreover, it will bridge the TCM park with the China Food & Drug Administration, prioritizing the authorization, review, and approval of projects. It will also support some specific ventures.
To strengthen research and exchange, the TCM Technology & Policy Research Center will be established utilizing advantages of the GDFDA and industrial park.
With government help, a communication channel will provide interpretations of new TCM policies, training sessions, and meetings. Also on hand will be professional guidance on other policies and key technologies based on research.
