Zhuhai flexes print consumables muscles in Mexico

The Print Consumables Capital of the World – Zhuhai -- came closer to clinching a trade partnership with Latin America at the RT Imaging Summit & Expo-Americas 2017 (RT Imaging Americas 2017) on June 22-23.

Held at the Cancun International Convention Center, the event coincided with the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico.

Zhuhai's renowned printing consumables suppliers such as Apex Technology Co Ltd, Mito Group, Zhuhai Polytoner Image Co Ltd, and Topjet Technology Co Ltd displayed their latest products and technologies.

Recycling Times Media, sponsor of the event, enlarged the exhibition area by 18 percent to 2,500 sq m in a bid to welcome an increasing number of attendees -- 86 exhibitors and more than 1,500 visitors from the United States, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and elsewhere.

The number of American exhibitors grew by 15 percent while the proportion of domestic enterprises also increased, in the hope of utilizing the event to find potential partners.

Negotiated were 146 projects yielding nearly $25.4 million in letters of intent, with a year-on-year growth of 26.8 percent.

Thanks to further business exchanges brought by the Belt & Road Initiative, China and Mexico have become each other’s second largest trade partner. In 2016, trade volume between the two countries reached $42.7 billion.

Zhuhai, with the largest and most complete print industry chain and highest technical-level in the industry worldwide, already houses more than 680 related enterprises and generates an export value of 52.8 billion yuan ($7.7 billion). Products manufactured in the city are sold to more than 100 countries and regions.

Chinese enterprises will make full use of the favorable Sino-Latin American trade partnership and target the world’s largest print consumables market in North America. The expo was a great opportunity and venue to expand the American market and strengthen the industry’s bilateral economic and trade cooperation, said an executive.

During the event, Zhuhai also promoted itself as an ideal venue for such exhibitions, showcased by a series of activities organized by the Zhuhai Convention & Expo Bureau. The city is equipped with comprehensive convention and exhibition facilities. It provides quality MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions) service for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
