Tsinghua Science Park nets cutting-edge enterprises

Ten pioneering companies signed agreements on April 19 to locate in nearly completed Innovation Tower G&H in Tsinghua Science Park. They are among 30 enterprises concerning integrated circuits, pharmaceuticals, aviation, and aerospace that have expressed intent to set up facilities there. 

Zhuhai Yixin Semiconductor Technology Co, for instance, specializes in flip chip LED products and technology development. Its establishment was led by Wu Yiping, a top researcher in encapsulation at Huazhong University of Science & Technology in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The company expects to generate a total output value of one billion yuan ($145 million) over the next three years.

In addition, Beijing Aerospace Yuxing Technology Development develops commercial satellite in-orbit management products, and has staff members working for national aerospace departments including the China Academy of Space Technology and satellite control center.

The company plans to build more than 10 ground radar stations, control more than a hundred satellites, and yield an estimate output of one billion yuan ($145 million) within five years. It is also planning to run a data operation center in Zhuhai.

The park was co-founded by Tsinghua University and the city government as an incubator and service center for hi- and new-technology enterprises. 

To attract more venture capital and projects by providing better services and facilities, the park commenced Phase II construction in 2016 as a step toward a whole chain for cultivating key projects in various stages.

With floor area of 70,000 sq m, the two R&D office buildings are to be operational by year-end, and will be able to accommodate more than 100 innovation-based enterprises and startups.

According to a project leader, the park will provide 360,000 sq m for R&D, offices, headquarters bases, LOFT offices, makers market, talented personnel apartment building, and an exchange center, and will accommodate 500 technology firms and 10,000 employees and entrepreneurs in three years.
