High-speed rail service to Chaoshan initiated

Ticketing for non-stop train service from Zhuhai to Chaoshan in far northeastern Guangdong near Fujian Province began on March 21. This marks the latest milestone in the city's ever-expanding rail development following the addition of high-speed trains to Zhengzhou in Henan Province, Kunming in Yunnan, and Nanning in Guangxi.

The high-speed G6339 embarks from the Chaoshan Railway Station in Shaxi Town in the Chao'an District of Chaozhou City at 4:20 pm and arrives in Zhuhai at 8:39 pm. The train passes through Chaoyang, Puning, Huizhou South, Shenzhen North, Humen, and Guangzhou South stations. The G6340/G6337 departs from Zhuhai at 11:42 am and reaches Chaoshan at 3:51 pm after traversing Guangzhou South, Humen, Shenzhen North, Shenzhen Pingshan, Huizhou South, and Chaoyang stations.

High-speed rails to Zhengzhou and Kunming also officially started ticketing on March 21, according to railway authorities. The Chaoshan route connects Zhuhai with Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Huizhou for the first time. This facilitates communication on both sides of the Pearl River and promotes development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Zhuhai Railway Station is designed to run more than 130 pairs of long- and short-distance trains daily. Designed are maximum five pairs of long-term over-line long-distance trains per hour, three pairs of short-distance through trains per hour, and 12 pairs of stopping trains per hour, with the shortest time period between two trains being 3 minutes.  

Since Zhuhai first started long-distance trains to Beijing and Guilin a year and half ago, local high-speed rails have connected more than 50 cities nationwide.
