The Zhuhai delegation to one of the world's oldest aviation shows scored success in attracting new aircraft and exhibitors to the 11th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition this November. Not only that, but the Zhuhai representatives also had talks in Europe on improving the city's water resources, bringing companies to Hengqin New Area, and bolstering China's ambitious Belt & Road Initiative.
The primary venue was the June 1-4 ILA Berlin Air Show, which attracted 794 enterprises from 40 countries and regions showcasing 155 aircraft. The event was organized by the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) and Messe Berlin GmbH.
At the show, Canadian manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace confirmed that its CS300 turbofan-powered narrow-body commercial passenger plane, which made a maiden flight in February 2015, will appear at Airshow China in Zhuhai. Furthermore, Airbus SAS announced that it would actively work toward having its A350 wide-body passenger jet at the Zhuhai show.

In addition, the Zhuhai delegation led by Wang Guangquan, deputy director and secretary-general of the executive committee of Airshow China, received orders from exhibitors for a total of 458 sq m of display booths, according to the Zhuhai Convention & Exhibition Group.
In promoting the 11th Airshow China and Zhuhai's favorable investment environment to the aviation industry, the Zhuhai group visited exhibits from the United States, Germany, Russia and Ukraine.
A BDLI spokesperson said Airshow China is important for facilitating exchange and cooperation between Chinese and German aviation and aerospace enterprises, and added that the association would continue to encourage German companies to participate in the Zhuhai event.
In addition to the air show, the delegates visited major companies and institutions from France, Hungary and Germany in the fields of aviation, new materials, water treatment, trade, conferences and exhibitions. Fruitful discussions were held with regard to project cooperation, technological exchange, trade and investment.
In the French city of Toulouse (Europe's aviation center), the delegates had detailed conversation with French companies ACDC, Aerospace Valley, ACG and VESO Concept.
ACDC, which was upbeat on Zhuhai's aviation industry and the Hengqin Free Trade Zone's outlook and policy advantages, said it plans to open a representative office in Hengqin to tap the Chinese market.
VESO Concept discussed the possibility of collaborating with enterprises based in Zhuhai, pointing to new materials that it has developed for the aviation, automobile and shipbuilding industries.
Moreover, the delegation visited Aquaprofit Zrt, a Hungarian European leader in water resources utilization and treatment. Aquaprofit reportedly is willing to carry out project and technological cooperation with Zhuhai's water resources companies and help the city improve sewage treatment capacity, water pollution control, hot springs tourism, and water resources.
Hungary's trade authority expressed interest in taking advantage of the Belt & Road Initiative to enhance bilateral economic and trade ties and promote pilot cooperation in cross-border e-commerce. Hungary also wants to benefit from preferential policies of the Hengqin and Zhuhai free trade zones to introduce quality agricultural products, such as wines and honey, to the Chinese market.
