Galsang Flower Festival brightens Doumen

The 2016 Galsang Flower Festival will open on March 5 in Doumen District of Zhuhai City. 

In addition to having 66,670 sq m covered with galsang flowers, the festival, to be held in a pitaya farm, will provide a variety of fun activities for tourists.

For example, they can not only admire the blossoming galsang flowers from viewing decks, but can also plant flowers themselves. Seeds and other gardening materials will be supplied by the farm, and participants may decide to take them home or ask the farm’s workers to do the planting. Other “agritainment” activities are open to tourists too, such as pulling radishes and digging up potatoes.

A giant rubber duck will be part of the festivity. Moreover, a section of the farm is decorated for visitors to play a game themed on "The Monkey King."

In addition, tourists can enjoy food with self-service barbecuing, as well as cuisines such as Doumen Roasted Meat, Chaoshan Beef Meatballs and healthy meals with ingredients grown on the farm.

The pitaya farm also will entice shoppers with fruit crafted into dehydrated pitaya flowers, dehydrated pitaya slices, and pitaya wine.
