Meihua Academy in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, will open to the public on March 24.
The academy, which has a history of more than 500 years, was a prominent education institute during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
Wang Na, a representative of the academy, said that the ancient academy will serve as a public cultural venue where visitors can buy books, read books, enjoy tea and coffee, as well as participate in a variety of study tour events.
Fan Simei, investment operations manager of Guangling Culture and Tourism Group, said that renovating the academy is part of their efforts to upgrade cultural venues along Guangling Road.
Located within Mingqing Ancient Town, Guangling Road is pivotal to connecting the city's three historical and cultural blocks – Renfengli, Wanzijie, Nanhexia – with Pishi Street and Guoqing Road, both of which are tourism hits in Yangzhou.
