A professor introduces the School of Mechanical Engineering at XJTU to POLIMI students.

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) successfully hosted the XJTU-POLIMI Summer Camp in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, from Aug 26 to Sept 1.

The summer camp marked the largest student exchange event between XJTU and POLIMI, aiming to promote in-depth interdisciplinary exchange between the two universities and foster deep integration between industries in both regions and countries.

A total of 43 students from seven departments at POLIMI participated in the camp. Various departments at XJTU, including the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and School of Telecommunications, helped organize and participated in the event.

The program featured nine specialized academic lectures and on-site visits to five laboratories, offering students an immersive experience of XJTU's educational philosophy, which emphasizes a strong academic foundation, practical training, and interdisciplinary learning. Additionally, XJTU arranged visits to partner enterprises, giving participants a firsthand understanding of industry-education integration, innovation-driven development, and China's rapid progress.

The closing ceremony of the summer camp took place on Aug 31, with the participation of Donatella Sciuto, rector of POLIMI, Giuliano Noci, vice-rector, and Shan Zhiwei, vice-president of XJTU. Both Sciuto and Noci expressed hope for further collaboration and exchanges in the future, while Shan welcomed more students from POLIMI and across the globe to join XJTU.
