Students engage in courses throughout the camp.

Students from École Centrale de Lyon (ECL) participated in the Sino-French Engineering Practice Summer Camp at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) from Aug 19 to 30.

Jointly organized by the XJTU's Department of International Cooperation & Exchanges and the School of Mechanical Engineering, the camp aimed to promote Sino-French cooperation in engineering education.

During the camp, ECL students attended courses on marine equipment and the design and construction of functional surfaces. They also toured companies like the Geely Xi'an manufacturing factory and engaged in in-depth exchanges with students from XJTU and Politecnico di Milano.

The participants noted that the camp provided them with a deeper understanding of Chinese engineering education, and were particularly impressed by XJTU's cutting-edge research on marine equipment. They also highlighted the close collaboration between the university and industry, which creates more opportunities in the engineering field. They expressed hope for further Sino-French cooperation in the future.

At the closing ceremony, Liu Wenfeng, director of the Department of International Cooperation & Exchanges at XJTU, introduced the university's extensive cooperation with French universities and emphasized how the summer camp has further advanced Sino-French engineering education exchange.

France's engineering education system is globally recognized for the deft way in which it combines theory with hands-on practice.
