Shan Zhiwei, member of the standing committee of the CPC Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) Committee and vice-president of XJTU, presided over a special seminar aimed at advancing international cooperation, international student affairs, alumni, and foundation work, on Aug 13.

The seminar specifically focused on the development of information technology in these areas. Wei Xiaoli, chairman of the alumni-founded Xi'an Webber Software Co, was invited to participate in the discussion.

Shan emphasized that XJTU is accelerating its efforts to build a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, expanding openness, enhancing international collaboration, improving the internationalization of talent cultivation, and rallying support from alumni at home and abroad to promote the university's high-quality development.

Representatives from various departments engaged in in-depth discussions, focusing on key tasks and IT development. They analyzed challenges and identified needs in faculty and student management, infrastructure improvement, information resource sharing, and AI applications.

XJTU's network information center introduced XJTU's "Year of IT Advancement" plan and expressed commitment to expediting the development of the "One-Stop Online Service" platform, employing digital transformation to empower international cooperation, student affairs, alumni, and foundation work.

Wei offered suggestions for XJTU's IT development and expressed his willingness to deepen cooperation with the university. He pledged to support his alma mater in enhancing data governance and improving IT intelligence through technical expertise.
