The Train Y925 departed Urumqi in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on December 20. It headed towards Altay with over 100 tourists aboard for a four-day snow and ice adventure. This marked the first ice and snow-themed tourism train to operate in Xinjiang this winter.

The inaugural ice and snow-themed tourism train offered a range of benefits, including comfortable sleeper accommodations, flexible travel arrangements where the train moved with the passengers' schedule, and a "night departure, morning arrival" format. This allowed tourists to travel overnight and visit attractions during the daytime, saving time while also fulfilling their desire to explore multiple scenic spots in one trip.

According to a staff member from Xinjiang Railway Tourism Development Group Co, four more special tourism trains are planned in the future, aimed at better leveraging Xinjiang's long winter season and abundant ice and snow tourism resources.
