The region sent 208 athletes to Sanya to compete in 14 events, making it a larger delegation to the games and pocketing more first-place awards than at the previous games. Additionally, all the equestrian competitions of the games were held in July in Zhaosu, Xinjiang.

In line with the national trend, traditional games have flourished in Xinjiang in recent years. At the games, Xinjiang's delegation showcased the skills of dawazi (tightrope walking) and diaoyang (snatching sheep on horseback), which captivated audiences, highlighting the region's rich cultural heritage.

Serving as a platform to promote sports, culture and unity, this year's games seamlessly integrated ethnic traditions into every aspect of the event.
