The accordion museum in Tacheng prefecture is the first of its kind in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. It boasts 1,087 accordions from 10 countries, including China, Russia, Germany and Italy. The oldest accordion has a history of more than 103 years.
Zhang Qingyang, a member of the Tacheng prefecture Standing Committee, said the city will hold the third accordion culture and art festival in August.
"We sincerely invite accordion lovers at home and abroad to witness the birth of a new record of the largest accordion ensemble. There will be 15 main activities at the festival, which will take place from Aug 18 to 20," Zhang added.
