Maiwulan Tulake, a 29-year-old man from Kashgar city in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, has gained fame in his hometown for his creativity and passion for traditional culture.

After graduation, Maiwulan became a freelance photographer, producing videos about Xinjiang – his homeland. However, it wasn't until 2018 when he returned to his hometown and saw the changes there that he decided to stay and devote himself to the city's growth.

That same year he opened "Rumi", a cultural and creative store in Kashgar Ancient City. The store quickly became famous for its innovative designs featuring both traditional and contemporary elements, which have attracted many young people to share in his passion for culture and arts.

Photography is also available in the store, which has sparked a trend of travel shoots in the city. Because of Maiwulan's exquisite photography props, scenery requirements and outstanding photography techniques, the store's customized shooting service is so popular that bookings are required a month in advance during peak season.

By creating clothing that showcases the beauty and diversity of Xinjiang's culture, Maiwulan is helping to promote the region both domestically and internationally. His clothes have been featured in magazines, and he has participated in numerous events and fashion shows. He was also the costume designer for the finals of the 59th "Miss China International" in Xinjiang

Despite his success, Maiwulan remains humble, and continues to seek inspiration in every corner of the city. Through his art and creativity, he hopes to inspire both locals and visitors to appreciate the beauty of Kashgar and its rich cultural heritage.
