Tourism expo puts Xinjiang under spotlight
The 2023 Xinjiang Cultural Tourism Industry Trade Expo and the 4th Xinjiang Spring Tourism Expo took place on April 8 at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Representatives from the Xinjiang tourism association and the national provincial tourism association sign a cooperation agreement during the expo on April 8.
The expo attracted 1,000 exhibitors and 280 cultural tourism enterprises. It also saw the participation of cultural tourism departments from other provincial-level regions and eight enterprises from Kyrgyzstan. The expo was characterized by diverse side events and attractive exhibition areas.

The expo provided a broad platform for exchanges and mutual learning among cultural tourism industries, according to a representative of Kyrgyzstan. "We motivated several Kyrgyz cultural tourism enterprises to participate in the expo, which will enhance the cooperation between Chinese and Kyrgyz enterprises and attract more Chinese tourists to visit Kyrgyzstan," she said.
The success of the event is expected to promote cooperation between enterprises and boost the tourism development in Xinjiang. To make tourism a growth engine and promising industry for high-quality economic development, the region is accelerating recovery of the sector and aiming to receive more than 200 million visitors this year. The region's tourism development will not only improve the income and well-being of all ethnic groups, but also showcase the solidarity, harmony, and good industrial ecosystem of Xinjiang.
