Root carving carpenter Ablat Turdi
In Xinjiang, root carving art features roots of dessert poplar trees, which are naturally distorted in imaginative shapes. Ablat and his mentor carefully selected root materials, conceptualized the artwork and carved by hand, transforming the wild root into a marvelous piece of sculpture.
