Fresh seafood up for talks, trade, and also taste at fair

Six state-level celebrity chefs and their apprentices will vie in public to win a fresh-ingredient cooking contest on the last two days of the May 17-19 Asia-Pacific Aquaculture Expo 2019 & Zhuhai International Aquaculture Trade Fair.
Visitors reportedly may savor the sumptuous freshly cooked dishes. Co-organized by the Famous Chef Special Committee of China Cuisine Association, the cooking competition is expected to continue last year's success in Fuzhou of Fujian Province.
Wild and farmed sea and freshwater fish, shellfish, shrimp, and crab along with sun-dried, tanned, and pickled products plus condiments will also be displayed and traded at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center in Shizimen Central Business District.

Halls 5 and 6 will contain a record of more than 100 overseas exhibitors from 12 countries and regions including Ecuador, Belgium, the United States, and Norway. They will be joined by 167 organizations and enterprises from 27 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China.
It will be a major gathering of suppliers, catering enterprises, hotels, restaurants, chain supermarkets, e-commerce platform procurement groups, wholesalers, and distributors, with a record number of visitors anticipated.
The Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Affairs will sponsor a networking event helping to find buyers for aquaculture farmers in poverty-stricken areas. Forty-five companies from 17 provinces will bring green, organic, and premium aquatic products cultivated in 39 counties. More than 1,000 sq m (a quarter-acre) will be used for their exhibition.
The aquaculture-themed expo, the only one covering a full industrial chain in the Asia-Pacific region, is sponsored by the China Aquatic Products Processing & Marketing Alliance and China Great Wall International Exhibition Co.
The Global Aquaculture Summit (GAS) 2019 an 11th China International Shrimp Industry Development Forum will be held at the same time.
