By next June, the Doumen Sci-Tech Innovation Center will stand as a high-end business venue serving small and medium-sized corporate headquarters and regional offices in what is becoming Western Eco-New Town Zhuhai.

The center's 130-m (427-ft) Grade-A office building is now taking shape as in-foundation parking lots are constructed at the foot of Jianfeng Mt. The building will overlook the Huangyang River near the Doumen Exhibition Center and Community Park.

The main structure will be topped in early September.

The 600-million-yuan ($91.2 million) complex will cover 36,777 sq m (9.1 acres) and have floorage of 95,336 sq m (24 acres). It is designed to accommodate technology exchanges, cultural displays, education services, leisure, and recreation, according to Xiang Wenyi, project manager.

The center has been listed as a provincial key project for 2018 and underpinned in a layout of "three centers" that will also feature civil services and art activities. They are unique to Doumen New Town in Western Eco-New Town of Zhuhai and said to be of importance to the development of the Huxin, Baijiao, Baiteng, South Jianfeng, and Xinqing sections.

Also being improved around the site are National Agricultural Park, Huangyang River and Xingfu River wetland parks, as well as Jianfeng Mt Central Park.
