Tianjin's Jizhou and Gansu's Tianzhu promote exchanges in cultural tourism industry

From June 14 to 16, Tianjin's Jizhou district and Tianzhu Tibetan autonomous county in Northwest China's Gansu province jointly conducted a promotional event for the cultural tourism industry in Tianjin.

Over 240 representatives from Jizhou district and Tianzhu autonomous county participated in the activity.

During the event, the two sides signed nine agreements of intent, covering edible fungus industry and cultural tourism development.

The participants also visited the intangible cultural heritage projects and agricultural products of Jizhou and Tianzhu. Rare Tibetan medicine, the unique Tibetan babao tea, elegant Tibetan fashion, as well as the millennia-old cultural and creative products of Dule Temple in Jizhou left deep impressions on them, and symbolized the cultural communication between the two sides.

Tianzhu Tibetan autonomous county in Gansu province

Since 2017, Jizhou district has been paired with Tianzhu Tibetan autonomous county in Gansu province to support the social and economic development of Tianzhu. Jizhou has carried out cooperation with Tianzhu in various sectors including investment exploration, technical services, training, tourism and education.

Over the past seven years, Jizhou district has dispatched a total of 192 professional and technical personnel to Tianzhu Tibetan autonomous county to provide medical, educational, and technical support, helping the county create job opportunities for nearly 20,000 people and facilitating consumption assistance totaling 380 million yuan ($52.37 million).

"Jizhou and Tianzhu both have long historical and cultural resources. Going forward, we will further cooperate across multiple fields in a bid to inject more vitality into the accelerated development of Tianzhu," said Zhang Jianyu, deputy secretary of the CPC Tianjin's Jizhou District Committee and the head of Jizhou district.
