A press conference on "Implementing the 'Ten Actions': To make Jizhou a Leisure Resort Destination" was held on July 4.

Xu Xiangguang, deputy head of Jizhou district, introduced the achievements of Jizhou in giving full play to its advantages in cultural resource management and landscape resources to build a leisure resort destination in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, as well as the special cultural tourism activities and related support work to be conducted in Jizhou district.

Xu stressed that since the beginning of this year, Jizhou has been promoting the integration of culture and tourism, and establishing a key cultural and tourism project database for the region. A total of 55 projects have been included in the database, with 28 projects having started construction in the first half of the year. Among the 28 projects, 7 projects have already been completed and put into operation, with a cumulative investment of 370 million yuan (about $51.3 million).

During this year's May Day holiday, the whole region received 2.64 million tourists and total tourism revenue of 1.29 billion yuan, with an increase of 97.9% and 121% respectively compared to the same period in 2019, hitting a record high. The proportion of tourists from other cities accounted for nearly half, showing a significant increase compared to previous years.

Based on the integrated development strategy of "tourism +", Jizhou district has launched a number of tourism projects, such as an ice and snow carnival, folk culture festival, peach blossom festival and a marathon.

During the summer vacation, Jizhou district will conduct more cultural and tourism activities and projects, including a national vehicle model education competition for teenagers, a series of water leisure projects and camping activities, so as to further stimulate market vitality and drive consumption in the local cultural and tourism market.
