On Feb 23, the Geological Society of China issued a certificate to Dong'erying town of Jizhou district, recognizing it as part of the second batch of national natural selenium-enriched land.
Dong'erying town is located in the southwest of Jizhou district. The area is home to more than 11,000 mu of selenium-enriched land, with over 0.3 mg of selenium per kilogram of soil. With such rich selenium elements, Dong’erying town has been approved and received certification as the second batch of national natural selenium-rich land, becoming the first recognized project in Tianjin.
To build a "selenium-rich town", Dong'erying has focused on the development of six categories of agricultural products, such as fruits, vegetables, poultry and eggs, and more than 10 types of agricultural products, to create a public brand. At the same time, it plans to launch six characteristic industrial projects, including characteristic agricultural planting and an ecological selenium-rich chicken farm, to carry out the integrated development of its primary, secondary and tertiary industries.
