On Feb 14, the staff of the Forestry Department of Jizhou district applied a new method to carry out the physical control of inchworms in the wetlands of the region.
Based on the requirement of promoting pest control while avoiding chemical pollution of water sources, the Forestry Department of Jizhou district decided to apply the new method of using a high viscosity belt barrier, which can prevent the pests from climbing up the trees. A total area of over 5,000 mu of a poplar grove in the region will be covered using this pest control method.
