The construction of a waste collection and transportation system is an important part of comprehensive urban management. In 2016, Jizhou district took the lead in establishing the urban and rural waste collection and transportation disposal system of Tianjin. Since the system was launched, nearly 1.9 million tons of waste have been collected and disposed of, with the harmless disposal of domestic waste having reached 100%.
Eight horizontal compression waste transfer stations have been built to the east and west of the urban area, Luozhuangzi town, Bangjun town, Youguzhuang town, Shangcang town, Yangjinzhuang town and the Development Zone respectively, and are responsible for the compression and transfer of domestic waste of the whole area, with a daily processing capacity of 1,200 tons.

The west station of the domestic waste transfer station of the urban area, completed and put into use in 2016, mainly serves Wenchang street, Guanzhuang town, and Yuyang town. The garbage transfer vehicle is weighed when it enters the station without contact. The information on the town the vehicle belongs to and the weight of the transferred garbage is automatically recorded on the digital supervision platform. After cleaning and disinfecting the vehicles and the surrounding environment, nearly 30 professional vehicles transport all of the compressed garbage to Tianjin Green Power Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. from each transfer station in the region for incineration and power generation, realizing resource recycling. Once the domestic waste enters the plant, Tianjin Green Power Renewable Energy will realize the harmless treatment of domestic waste through advanced treatment facilities and equipment.
The urban and rural domestic waste collection, transportation and disposal system in Jizhou district includes three projects: town and village domestic waste collection, domestic waste transfer station, and domestic waste incineration power plant. In order to further solve the problem of slag disposal of domestic waste incineration power plants, on July 10 this year, Handesen Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., was founded. After more than ten production procedures, the waste residue generated from incineration in the garbage power plant is separated into iron, aluminum, gold, silver and other precious metals.
According to Zhang Zhongdong, the deputy director of Jizhou Commission of Urban Management, implementing the way of classified delivery, collection, transportation and treatment, Jizhou has continuously improved the garbage transportation equipment, forming a collection and transportation system of kitchen waste, recyclables, hazardous waste and other garbage, and is making significant contributions to building a model city of ecological priority and green development.
