The Geological Society of China has announced the second batch of 30 natural selenium-enriched land plots in China. Dong'erying town is on the list, and it is the only recognized plot in Tianjin.
Dong'erying town covers an area of 28 square kilometers. Some 11,000 mu of natural green selenium-enriched land has been certified, and the average selenium content in soil is 0.34mg/kg.

At present, Dong'erying town is focused on the unique natural selenium resources in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, setting the goal of "building the most influential ecological selenium-enriched characteristic town in the region." It is trying to develop the selenium industry, and making a new path for rural revitalization.
The national recognition of the natural selenium-enriched land will promote the construction of the "selenium-enriched township" brand and the industrial development of Dong'erying town. The town will make full use of the unique resources to vigorously attract leading agricultural products. The goal is to build processing plants, warehouses, product testing centers for selenium-enriched agricultural products.
The town will continue to promote the revitalization of characteristic industries in the rural areas of Jizhou.
