The series report on Jizhou's extraordinary decade shows local developments, as well as the outstanding achievements made over the past ten years.
Over the past decade, Jizhou has been focusing on the construction of a safe, efficient, and interconnected modern infrastructure network, and investment on construction has risen. A comprehensive transportation network has been gradually formed, and water conservancy facilities have been accelerated. Key construction projects related to people's livelihoods have been completed, providing solid support for the local people's lives.
The Jixian section of the Tangcheng expressway was put into operation on February 12, 2015, with a total length of 28 kilometers and a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan (about $349 million). On September 18, 2016, the Tainjin section of the Jingqin expressway, with a total length of 30.3 kilometers and a total investment of 4.3 billion yuan, was put into use. On September 18, 2018, Jizhou was opened to traffic in the direction of Beijing. It only takes 30 minutes to drive from Bangjun Toll Station to the east sixth ring road of Beijing, an hour less than before.

On July 1, 2017, the second line of the Jinwei north highway, with a total investment of 1.12 billion yuan, was opened. This project is one of the key projects of Tianji-Hebei transportation integration. [Photo/Wechat account: zhangshangjizhou]
Jizhou has also promoted the construction of urban supporting facilities to enhance residents' sense of happiness and security.
In October 2015, Jixian People's Hospital was moved to its new site at No. 18, South Ring Road. It has an area of 10.67 hectares, a total building area of 113,000 square meters and 800 open beds.

The government has also promoted the allocation of family doctors, with more than 61% of elderly people in the region having signed with their own personal doctors. From 2012 to 2020, the number of elderly-care institutions increased from 16 to 49, and the number of elderly day-care service centers rose from 6 to 135.
