The Supreme People's Court (SPC) held a ceremony for its staff members to pledge allegiance to the Constitution on Dec 4, which marks China's 11th National Constitution Day. Zhang Jun, president of the SPC, oversaw the ceremony.

A total of 58 individuals, including newly appointed officials of department and division level, newly promoted judges and newly appointed judges, participated in the ceremony, pledging allegiance to the Communist Party of China, the people and the Constitution, as well as to their duties.

The Constitution is China's fundamental law. The Standing Committee of the 12th National People's Congress adopted a decision to implement the Constitutional oath system in July 2015.
