The head of China’s top court said that courts around the country should accept the supervision of media and society, and build a positive interaction with them.

Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of the Supreme People's Court, made the remarks at a media expert forum on Jan 25 in Beijing.

Positive interaction between media and courts can contribute to justice for people based on legal fairness, Zhou said.

It helps to build a good environment for the socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics, he added.

At the forum, delegates from the media provided advice and suggestions on promoting the interaction.

Zhou said all the opinions will be carefully analyzed and absorbed to improve the ability of courts to better meet the demands of the people.

He said court stories should be told in a more effective manner.

The communication capacity, guiding force, influence and credibility of court publicity should be further improved, he noted.
