Huang Ermei, a vice-president of China’s Supreme People’s Court, met with Gillian Triggs, president of Australia’s Human Rights Commission, on July 15 in Beijing, where they reviewed the bilateral cooperation project the two countries have worked on for the past 17 years, its positive role in China’s legal reforms and, in particular, in providing legal backing to human rights. They had a brief summary of project development in the 2014-15 period and discussed cooperation for next year.
