The fifth Beijing Cultural Integration Development Project Cooperation & Promotion Conference was held on Oct 25.

About 50 firms involved in the culture industry exhibited their updated achievements and projects at the conference, with total agreements worth 7 billion yuan ($1 billion) signed. The companies work in areas including tourism, education, sports, business and finance.

The conference was organized by the State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO), China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council, the Industrial Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (ICDC of MIIT), and China Animation Comic Game Group.

According to Dong Dianyi, deputy director of SOCASAO, last year, Beijing's cultural and creative industries realized an added value of 390.88 billion yuan, accounting for 14 percent of regional GDP.

Dong also said that the Beijing government would soon release a document with preferential measures for the integrated development of culture and technology, involving mechanism innovation, policy improvements, and support for capital and skilled workers.
